It holds the full-text articles of over 850 journals, the majority of which are published by Blackwell on behalf of international scholarly and professional societies. The subjects covered range across Medicine, Science, Social Science and the Humanities.

Blackwell Synergy was re-launched with a new design in January 2007. The redesign provides easier navigation, faster loading times, and improved access to tools for researchers.
