- What does Library 2.0 actually mean, and what does it have to do with how we run our libraries? Now that we’ve been using some of the applications are let’s take a look at how libraries are integrating them into their service delivery. We will discuss ways that libraries have been using new technologies, and also some old familiar tech, to reach and interact with patrons in new ways.

- The idea that this is a time of change is no news to anyone working in the world of libraries; similarly, the idea that this is a time requiring newly effective library leadership is also no news. What may be most difficult for libraries and for the leadership exercised by librarians is that we can’t really know nor fully understand the world to which we are expected to lead, nor are we in charge of the developments that have been and will continue to be drivers of change. How can we think about leading and leadership when everything is in motion?

- Web 2.0 is on everybody’s lips these days, but how do we tell trendy buzz and true user needs apart? This presentation will describe a fast track process that Cornell used to anchor their ‘Web Vision’ project to local user needs. What goals did the findings articulate, and what solutions did we find to move towards achieving these goals? The resulting four-part implementation project makes WorldCat Local the center piece of the updated discover-delivery-information environment that we are hoping to debut for fall 2008.
