Using the OCLC Terminologies Service

The Terminologies Service provides access to multiple controlled vocabularies to help you create consistent metadata for your library, museum, or archive collections. You can copy-and-paste terms into a workform or template, improving the description of (and access to) your digital and hard copy materials.

Learn how to integrate the Terminologies Service with OCLC Connexion or use it as a stand-alone tool to copy terms into a variety of metadata editors, such as your local system or the one available in OCLC’s CONTENTdm software.

Please note: This will be an online webinar, not a hands-on training class. All that is needed to attend is a computer with Internet access with a nearby phone for audio access. This presentation will run for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Who should attend:Anyone creating metadata in a local system, Connexion, or CONTENTdm.

Prerequisite: Familiarity with metadata such as MARC or Dublin Core.
