Metadata: The Basics
Would you like to have a better grasp of the different metadata schemes such as EAD, TEI, ONIX, MODS, METS, GILS, DC? What do all those acronyms mean and what are they used for? This session will help make sense of all those acronyms and give you some context for thinking about your own institution's needs for describing digital, as well as physical, objects.
This demonstration class provides an overview of metadata concepts and examples of practical applications.
Who should attend: Anyone interested in learning more about metadata standards and their applications.
Prerequisite: None.
