“Great Idea. How Are We Going to Pay for It?” Grant Writing for Libraries and Museums

As budgets shrink and competition for funding sources increases strong grant seeking and writing skills are necessary to keep many projects alive. During this workshop you will learn the skills needed to seek out funding sources, manage a grant project and write competitive proposals. Resources to identify public and private grant resources will also be shared and discussed.

After this workshop you will be able to:

  • Determine projects to seek funding for.
  • Identify funding sources for projects.
  • Identify the steps involved in a grant project.
  • Identify and develop partnerships.
  • Develop and manage a grant project.
  • Implement and evaluate the grant process.

You will do most of the work on your own with both individual and group assignments. Participants will also be required to participate in asynchronous communication via the Discussion Board.

The time commitment is approximately 2-4 hours per week.

Who should enroll: This workshop is applicable for those with beginning and intermediate experience with grant writing.
