Cataloging With the OCLC Connexion Client
The OCLC Connexion client includes interactive online functionality along with macros and labels in a Microsoft Windows-based interface. Additional functionality of the Connexion client includes off-line cataloging with local files, batch processing, and support for NACO authority work and Institution Records. This hands-on class introduces the client software to perform basic cataloging functions.
At the end of this class you will be able to:
- Search WorldCat for bibliographic records.
- Search the OCLC Authority File.
- Edit records interactively and offline.
- Create new records.
- Use the Online Save File and Local Files.
- Link headings to the Authority File.
- Update holdings/Produce catalog cards.
- Use batch processing to streamline cataloging and searching operations.
- Export records.
- Print labels.
Who Should Attend: Users of the OCLC Connexion cataloging service.
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of OCLC cataloging functions.
