Dealing With Web-Delivered Resources: Full Text
There is so much free full text available on the web! From dealing with Project Gutenberg, to government documents, to Open Library, this webinar will explore how to find and describe web-delivered full text according to AACR2 and MARC21.
At the end of this workshop you will be able to
- Recognize what aspects define web-delivered full text
- Understand correct MARC record structure for web-delivered full text
- Understand and implement the latest cataloging policies from OCLC and the Library of Congress
- Edit existing cataloging records to conform to current standards
Who should attend:Anyone who is interested including MARC records for web-delivered full text in their catalog, or would like to learn more about the latest standards for cataloging electronic full text.
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of the MARC Bibliographic standards and the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, 2nd ed. 2002 Revision. Basic prior experience in cataloging of print or electronic materials on OCLC will be helpful.
