From the East or West

Long Island Expressway:

Take the LIE to Exit 44S (Rte. 135 Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway). Proceed to Hempstead Turnpike (Rte. 24). Go east on Hempstead Turnpike for approximately 1 mile to Merritts Road. Make a right onto Merritts Road. Library is about 1/4 mile (opposite firehouse) on the left side.

Southern State Parkway:

Take the Southern State to Bethpage State Parkway North. Go to 1st Exit (Boundary Ave.) and bear left. Go about 2 blocks to Merritts Road. Make a right onto Merritts Road. Library is about 1/4 mile (opposite firehouse) on the left side.

Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway:

Take the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway to Hempstead Turnpike (Rte. 24). Go east on Hempstead Turnpike for approximately 1 mile to Merritts Road. Make a right onto Merritts Road. Library is about 1/4 mile (opposite firehouse) on the left side.

By Long Island Railroad:

From Penn Station, take the Ronkonkoma Branch LIRR to the Farmingdale Station. The trip is about 32 miles, and takes approximately 55 minutes. The Farmingdale Station is located at Secatogue Ave. & Atlantic Ave. and is about 1 1/2 mile from the Farmingdale Public Library.

It is not recommended to walk from the station. Taxis from the Long Island Yellow Cab Co. serve the Farmingdale Station, and can often be found outside the station.
